Vision
Biblical Imperative
I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your home, naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me. Matthew 25:35-36
Mission
To advance the Kingdom of God against the darkness of this world by loving God, embodying God’s love for each other and by proclaiming God’s love to the world.
Vision
To be a community of spiritually empowered people who reflect God’s love and advance God’s Kingdom in the Memphis community and the surrounding area, and to the world as the Lord leads, working hand in hand with diversity as an expression of love for mankind, until all have reached fullness in Christ.
The Future
In five years we will look back and see the following:
Three “generations” of community groups will have gone through a natural life cycle of birth, death, rebirth and multiplication. One third of the small groups in each generation will have been intentionally dissolved and absorbed into other more healthy groups. Two thirds of the small groups in each generation will have multiplied and birthed new groups among our unchurched neighbors. Some groups will remain stagnant but most will have experienced rebirth and regeneration.
Christ Fellowship will be inseparable from One Faith Fellowship, an African American Fellowship. Christ Fellowship will be like members of the same family with this church, as we serve together each month in transformational ministry within a segment of Memphis. Families from both congregations will share a common spiritual heritage and heart for God, for one another, for the city, and for the world.
Christ Fellowship will be actively engaged in city transformation along side One Faith Fellowship, the Hope Presbyterian Network of Churches in Memphis, and the Mid South Baptist Association. We will regularly partner with these churches in their efforts to address human, social and spiritual concerns.
Christ Fellowship and One Faith Fellowship, an African American Congregation will have made significant progress toward holistic transformation of one unreached people group or city in a restricted access area of the world. Our children will be praying daily for indigenous workers as well as international Christian workers among this unreached people. We will be active participants in a movement of churches and agencies working together to impact this people for Christ.
Christ Fellowship will have mobilized the production of biblical church planting tools for work among an unreached people group. We will have funded indigenous and international workers through partner ministries. We will have seen the first generation of spiritual fruit among an unreached people group.
Christ Fellowship will have mentored 150 people for advanced cross-cultural ministry. 75% of those will be committed and equipped to live out a World Christian lifestyle.
Christ Fellowship will have initiated and made a significant investment in two new church planting hubs. Each new church planting effort provides the opportunity for Christ Fellowship to take this vision further, to attempt new strategies, and to allow God to move us much further than Christ Fellowship could without engaging in new births of new church planting hubs.
